"TUF8" winner Ryan Bader meets Carmelo Marrero at UFC Fight Night 18

Fresh off his successful run on "The Ultimate Fighter 8," reality-show winner Ryan Bader (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will put his undefeated streak on the line when he meets Carmelo Marrero (10-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 18.

Sources today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that both fighters have accepted the bout, which was first reported by fiveouncesofpain.com.

Although not officially announced, UFC Fight Night 18 is expected to take place April 1 -- possibly in Nashville, Tenn.

Bader, a two-time All-American wrestler at Arizona State University and a member of Arizona Combat Sports, recently defeated Vinicius Magalhaes to become the "TUF8" light-heavyweight winner. On the show, Bader defeated Kyle Kingsbury, Tom Lawlor and Eliot Marshall to make it to the live finale. He defeated Magalhaes via first-round TKO at the show's live finale in December.

Bader, who blogged about "TUF" for MMAjunkie.com, has now forced stoppages in seven of his eight pro wins (four via knockout and three via submission).

His upcoming opponent, Marrero, returns to the UFC for the time since 2007. During his first stint, he made his UFC debut with an upset of Cheick Kongo but suffered subsequent submission losses to Gabriel Gonzaga and Wilson Gouveia. Marrero then went 3-0 (with one no-contest) with organizations such as the IFL and WCO. It was enough to earn Marrero a contract with the UFC's sister promotion, the WEC, in 2008.

Marrero, a former collegiate wrestler at Rider University, made his WEC debut in November with a split-decision win over Steve Steinbeiss. However, the organization recently eliminated its light heavyweight class (and middleweight division), and Marrero was moved to the UFC.

Ryan "PVT Hero" Bader tem muito potencial pra tornar-se uma estrela na LHW do UFC, se o seu cartel for trabalhado da forma correta, sem jogá-lo aos leões antes do tempo.

Atleta vencedor no Wrestling nacional e de cartel invicto no MMA não se acha em todo canto. O UFC deve prepará-lo para colher os resultados em médio prazo, pois a categoria já está repleta de inúmeras possibilidades grandiosas para utilizar de imediato, com os grandes nomes que já possui.

Esse cara aí é muito casca, podem anotar que vai dar trabalho, tinha medo que jogassem ele pra levantar o Wanderlei, só se for levantar do octagon pq a probabilidade de vencer o careca é alta, além de excelente wrestler troca bem e tem a mão pesada.
