The fighters trade jabs. Silva snaps off another low kick. Silva moves in but misses wide on a straight right. Arlovski avoids the jabs but finally eats a quick right. Arlovski fires off his own leg kick. Arlovski misses a big right and resets. Silva throws another low kick as each fighter remains patient. Arlovski works low kicks while keeping his guard up. Silva counters with a nice left that snaps Arlovski awake. Silva shoots and clinches with Arlovski against the cage. Arlovski sprawls and keeps it upright. Silva works knee strikes to the leg. Silva breaks away with a nice forearm to the face. Silva pushes him back into the cage with a couple quick punches before clinching and scoring the single-leg takedown. Silva stands over his downed opponent, dives in, and delivers some hammerfists. Arlovski sits up and catches his breath. Silva remains on top and also catches some breaths. Arlovski works back to his feet before the round ends. It's a close one, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Silva. Round 2 - Silva throws a low kick that's checked. The fighters trade rights, but neither lands flush. Silva with a nice straight left. Silva then unloads a combo that wobbles Arlovski, and they clinch against the cage. Arlovski reverses the position and puts Silva against the cage. Silva gets the Muay Thai clinch, but Arlovski throws punches to the body. Silva unloads a quick combo, but they clinch again until the ref restarts them. Silva shoots, but Arlovski defends and puts him against the cage. The action slows as the fighters jockey for position. Silva reverses the position and looks for a trip-takedown. Arlovski defends, and after a stalemate, the ref calls for another restart. Both wait to counter before trading kicks. Silva ducks under a right and clinches to put Arlovski against the cage. Silva unloads a knee to the body and a right, clinches again, but Arlovski reverses it. The fighters separate and swing wildly, but nothing lands. After another clinch, the action stalls until Silva throws a knee and Arlovski a punch. Neither connects with much behind it. It's a close one, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Silva thanks to the big early combo. Round 3 - The fighters circle and connect on little early. Silva throws an inside leg kick and follows with a right that misses. The fighters clinch against the cage, and Silva uses a Muay Thai clinch for some knees. Arlovski defends against the takedown with his back against the cage. The fighters separate, and Silva lands a couple punches before Arlovski pushes him into the cage. The ref calls for action. Silva throws a knee to the body and reverses the position. Silva works more knees, but the ref calls for a restart. Silva misses with a body kick. Arlovski throws one of his own. Silva clinches, and both fighters are dealing with fatigue. Arlovski defends against the takedown for the better part of a minute, but Silva picks him up and slams him to the mat. Silva works from gull guard, frees a leg, and looks for mount. Arlovski won't allow it. Silva postures and lands a right before returning to guard. Arlovski tries to get back to his feet, and he's successfully after putting his back against the cage. The ref calls for a restart, and Arlovski lands a right. The round ends. It's a close one, but MMAjunkie.com scores it again for Silva, 10-9, and 30-27 overall. The judges, though, could give us a surprise. Antonio Silva def.
