Convidado Fernando Abrahim Postado April 17, 2010 THOMAS CAMPBELL VS. CODY FLOYD Round 1 - Campbell dips for a single leg, takes elbows to the head, lifts his opponents, but can't get the takedown. Campbell continues working on him against the cage and clings to the leg. He finally gets it and looks to take Floyd's back as they stand. Floyd has it from the standing position and looks for the trip takedown. Floyd spins out of it, is tripped, but then delivers elbow strikes as he gets back to his feet. Campbell still clings to the leg but briefly gives up his back. The fighters clinch against the cage and continue the frantic battle for position. Campbell dips for a single leg again, but Floyd's balance remains solid as he stays upright. Campbell continues to push him against the cage while holding the one leg and eats a series of punches and a big knee and punch to the midsection before he again dips. Floyd continues with more punches to the sides as Campbell drops to his knees. Floyd stands over him and rains down punches in bunches as the referee looks on and issues a warning for Campbell to fight back. Floyd moves into mount position, and Campbell briefly pulls him close to grab his breath. But Floyd rains down more punches from the mount, and Campbell simply wants to wait out the round. Floyd unloads a flurry, pulls an armbar, torques it, but Campbell is saved by the bell. A 25-percent full crowd applauds loudly for the effort. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 for Floyd. Round 2 - Floyd delivers a knee to the midsection and jumps with another. Campbell defends, and his opponent nearly flies over the fence. After hitting the mat, the fighters jockey for position. Campbell again clings to a leg from the kneeling position and eats punches. Floyd then delivers an elbow strike, and the fight is halted as the fighter is issued a one-point deduction for the costly foul. Campbell remains on the mat and as ringside personnel look on. Campbell gets to his feet but then gets in a catcher's position and then to his knees. The doctor watches him closely as the crowd boos the fighter's unwillingness to continue. The fight continues, and Campbell again shoots for a single leg. Floyd avoids it and delivers more punches as his opponent crawls around on the mat trying to grab a leg. Floyd collapses on top of him in the north-south position before moving into his opponent's full guard. Floyd frees a leg, delivers punches, but can't get to the mount. However, he then stands over Campbell and wings unanswered blows before taking his opponent's back. Floyd continues the attack, rolls over his opponent, and works from the mount. Campbell pulls him back into guard, but Floyd scrambles and again moves into the top position from north-south. Floyd gets to his feet and continues delivering punches and knees to the sides while Campbell kneels. The abuse is mounting as each shot lands with a thud. Floyd delivers yet more punches and then waits for his opponent to stand again. Another big knee from Floyd drops his opponent before the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-8 for Floyd, but with the point deduction, he takes the round 9-8. Round 3 - Floyd immediately goes to work and delivers punches as Campbell kneels. Campbell gets back to his feet, eats a big knee, collapses to the mat, and the fight is mercifully waved off. Cody Floyd def. Thomas Campbell via KO (strikes) - Round 3. DUSTIN ORTIZ VS. JUSTIN PENNINGTON Round 1 - A touch of gloves gets us started. Ortiz takes a jab. Little action early as the fighters test their range. Ortiz delivers a low kick, and Pennington hits the mat after a kick to the baby-maker. A timeout is called. Ortiz paws with his left jab and then ducks and shoots for a nice takedown after the restart. Ortiz frees a leg and moves into half guard but can do little with the position. However, he then hops into full mount and locks in an arm-triangle choke. Pennington tries to punch through it and create some room to breathe, but Ortiz tightens the choke before delivering shots to the midsection with his free arm. He then gives up the hold and goes back to work from the mount. Pennington pulls him close, but Ortiz goes high with the position and delivers punches and then takes his opponent's back. Pennington kneels and eats punches as Ortiz works while attached to his back. Ortiz looks for a rear-naked choke but postures up to deliver punches and then returns to the choke. After a few seconds trying to improve the position, Pennington relents and taps out. Dustin Ortiz def. Justin Pennington via submission (rear-naked choke) - Round 1, 4:27. HUNTER WORSHAM Round 1 - Worsham (son of former UFC fighter Cal Worsham) backs away from a jab before throwing a front kick and shooting for a takedown. Underwood avoids it and collapses on top of his kneeling opponent. Underwood looks for a guillotine and then scrambles for position from the top. Worsham sweeps and delivers knees to the belly while Underwood is pressed into the fence while in a sitting position. Underwood gets to his knees and then stands with his opponent and delivers more knees to the midsection. Worsham holds onto a headlock and then sprawls out of a single-leg takedown attempt. Worsham clings to a Muay Thai clinch but gives it up after eating a couple punches, and we restart. Worsham lands a leg kick and blocks a punch. Underwood unloads a combo that backs up Worsham. Worsham, though, drags him to the mat and hops into a top position while they're pushed against the cage. Worsham works from side control as he delivers punches to the body. Underwood uses the cage to try to get his feet, but Worsham locks in a choke as they both get to their feet. He gives it up and then must defend a guillotine as Underwood reserves the position and pushes Worsham into the cage. Worsham, though, scores a big trip takedown and moves into side control. Underwood tries to roll free but gives up his back and eats a couple punches before rolling out of the position. It's a solid first round that's heavy on action, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Worsham. Round 2 - Worsham opens with a nice body kick but eats a punch. The fighters again trade identically before resetting. Worsham shoots but telegraphs it, and Underwood sprawls while collapsing on top of him. The fighters take a breather during the stalemate in the position. Underwood delivers a couple knees to the midsection while moving more into a north-south position. Another half-dozen knees strikes follow. Underwood delivers more knee strikes before Worsham returns to his feet, which earns some applause. Underwood clings to him and pushes him into the cage and then drags the fight back to the mat. Underwood takes his opponent's back and tries to lock in his hooks but only can get one. Underwood delivers punches and knees before Worsham rolls. Underwood maintains the position and delivers dozens of punches from behind. Worsham briefly gets to his feet, is taken down, and then gets back up. Worsham is now bleeding from the head but catches a breather while leaning against the cage. Underwood takes the fight back to the mat and looks to pass guard, but Worsham sweeps and takes the mount position. Worsham then takes his opponent's back and locks in a rear-naked choke but can't get the position he needs as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Underwood. Round 3 - A touch of gloves gets us underway for the final frame. Worsham shoots. but Underwood sprawls. Worsham shoots again, and Underwood collapses on top of him and delivers punches to his kneeling opponent. Some heavy shots land. Underwood looks to his corner for advice and then delivers more punches. Worsham can't get off his knees but blocks much of the damage. Worsham nearly escapes, but a relentless Underwood clings to him. Worsham looks for a leg, but Underwood doesn't give it up. Worsham gets back to his feet, but Underwood shoves him into the fencing. A stalemate ensues against the fencing, and "Big" John McCarthy calls for a restart. Worsham just misses on a Superman punch and then shoots again as Underwood successfully scprawls. Worsham is again in a four-point position as Underwood moves to a north-south position. Worsham grabs an ankle and tries to get some position, but Underwood has none of it and closes out the round with a guillotine attempt. Schockman pushes his opponent into the cage, but Yarbrough reverses the position, and the fighters continue the battle for position while trading knee strikes. Schockman fires off some nice kicks, but Yarbrough floors him with a perfectly times knee to the face. Yarbrough follows with punches and then drops to the mat and works from side control as Schockman's face is a bloody mess. Yarbrough hops into the mount position and continues the assault. Schockman tries to pull him off with his legs, but Yarbrough keeps the punishment coming as he's forced into side control. The blood is really pouring from Schockman's forehead now. Yarbrough throws hammerfists as Schockman tries to regain full guard. Yarbrough returns to his feet, and the ref allows Schockman to do the same. The ref calls for a timeout to check Schockman's cuts. The doctor quickly determines he can continue. On the restart, Schockman delivers some nice body kicks but is again quickly put on his back as Yarbrough moves into guard. Yarbrough postures up and lands a big right as the round ends.
